There are separate Left and Right speakers. Two speakers are on the sides of the cabinet and two are on the front for a very wide dispersion that is a respectable simulation to what you will achieve with separate speakers. 

According to Michael Fremer of Analog Planet "The soundstage spreads beyond the compact Spinbase’s chassis and produces a stereo spread considerably wider than the closely placed L/R speakers but more impressive was that the sound did not “stick” at all to the box. Rather, it hovered in space across the room."
